SUBMITTING WORK FOR DON BYRD'S COURSES ELECTRONICALLY 1. Use a filename that makes clear what the file is, prefixed with your last name (not your first name, please; I keep everything in order by last name, since it's less likely there'll be duplications). For example: Jones_Assignment7Part1.wav 2. Mac users: Your computer knows what application every file belongs to, but when you send a file to someone else -- especially by e-mail -- the hidden information that says is likely to get lost. To avoid problems, use the standard (Windows) extension for the type of file. Common examples include: .wav for Wave audio .mp3 for (duh) MP3 audio .doc for MS Word documents .txt for plain text .R (or .txt) for R programs NB you can use .R instead of .txt for R programs. .txt won't cause any problems, but I'd prefer .R, since it's more specific. 3. If the file isn't too large -- say, 10 MB or less -- email it to _both_ me and the AI. If it's larger than that, you can give me a CDROM or DVDROM; use one of the websites that specialize in transferring big files, e.g., http://storeandserve.com ; or make other arrangements.
